A Comfortable Stay at Black Creek Lodge RV Park & Marina

The motel rooms sit right on the property, which puts you about as close to Black Creek as you can get without sleeping on the dock. Step outside in the morning and the boat ramp is right there, the fishing dock is a short walk, and the camp store has coffee, ice, and whatever else you need before you head out.

Black Creek is a brackish waterway, which means the fishing changes depending on how far you roam. Bream, catfish, and bass are common in the creek itself. Push out toward the Choctawhatchee River and the bay and redfish and speckled trout show up. Clear the Destin pass and you’re fishing the Gulf, about 45 minutes out by boat. Four bodies of water from one property is a pretty rare thing on the Panhandle.

When the water calls it a day, so can you. Grayton Beach and Blue Mountain Beach are 13 miles south, two of the least crowded stretches of sand in the region. Destin is 45 minutes west if you want the full Emerald Coast experience, and the towns along 30-A, Rosemary Beach, Seaside, WaterColor, are all within that same window. Freeport itself has good local restaurants and a grocery store, so the basics are always covered without a long drive.
